Information Systems and
Operations Management

 

Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) programs provide opportunities for students to customize and supplement their general degree with courses from both information systems and operations management. The mission of the ISOM program is to bridge the gap between technologies and business through high-quality research and disseminate knowledge through rigorous and relevant academic programs.

 

Management Information Systems

Students enrolled in the Management Information Systems (MIS) program gain knowledge, skills and expertise needed to conduct systems analysis and design effective information technology solutions to satisfy evolving business needs. The MIS area offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs that focus on:

  • General business and information technology
  • Technical and managerial aspects of information technology
  • Information technology strategy and policy
  • Information technology applications to business problems, creating efficient and effective solutions

 

Operations Management

Students enrolled in the Operations Management programs gain knowledge, skills and expertise needed to manage and improve the efficiency and productivity of business operations to improve the quality of services and goods produced.

Information Systems and Operations Management offers undergraduate, master's and doctoral programs in information systems and supply chain management and is also home to several research centers including: the Center for Information Technology Management, the Center for Intelligent Supply Chain Networks and the International Center for Decision and Risk Analysis. Chapters of professional societies such as Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) and SAP Users' Group provide students opportunities to connect with the industry.
