Non-Degree Seeking students

Students that desire admission as a non-degree seeking student must meet all the admission requirements specified above for degree seeking students, including all relevant test scores (GMAT/GRE, TOEFL). Students who decide to switch to degree seeking status will have to apply to the degree program. If they are admitted, at most six credit hours taken as a non-degree seeking student can be transferred to the degree program.

Conditional Acceptance to the School of Management

Conditional acceptance to the School of Management graduate program may be granted with the recommendation of the Admissions Committee and the Dean of Graduate Studies. At the time of their acceptance, the students will be informed of the conditions they need to satisfy to become fully admitted degree seeking students. The students can be in conditional status for only one semester and need to fulfill the stipulated conditions by the end of the semester. Conditionally accepted students will be restricted to taking at most six credit hours during the semester and may only enroll in courses listed as basic core courses on their degree plan.

Please note the following special conditions of non-degree seeking and conditionally accepted students.

  • Students in this country on an F1 or J1 Visa may only be admitted to degree seeking status. Please consult with the International Admissions Office if you are in doubt concerning your status.
  • No more than six credit hours taken as a non-degree seeking student or conditionally accepted student within the School of Management at UT-Dallas may be applied towards a Master's Degree. There are no exceptions to this policy.
