Registration:

Students can register for online courses via e-mail. See our Registration Information page for details.

Galaxy:

For Online Student Information Access, please login to Galaxy http://galaxy.utdallas.edu/cp/home/loginf. Here you can view your schedule, access courses, view grades, pay tuition, view account payment summary, view an unofficial transcript, access UTD email, and more.

Course Textbooks and Materials:

Textbooks and course materials can be ordered online at http://direct.mbsbooks.com/utd.htm. They are also available at the UTD Bookstore and Off-Campus Books.

Online Library Resources:

UTD McDermott Library electronic databases are available to online students. Flash-based tutorials on these databases are available. Please see the library's Distance Learning page for more information. Some instructors may reserve reading materials in the Electronic Reserves at the library.

WebCT:

Most Global MBA Online courses are developed and delivered using WebCT. We currently use WebCT version CE6. For more WebCT information and learning resources, visit http://www.blackboard.com/us/index.bbb. Some helpful resources for students can be found at: https://behind.blackboard.com/s/student/.

Proctored Examination:

Some Global MBA online courses require a proctored final examination. Please find the detailed instructions, procedures and a downloadable exam form at the Proctored Exam Information page.

Web Conferencing:

A web conferencing tool - Elluminate Live! is available for real time communication and interaction in online courses. This powerful tool combines a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), application with desktop sharing, instant messaging, and whiteboard functionality to create a powerful, easy-to-use, collaborative learning environment. For more information about the tool, visit the Elluminate website at http://www.elluminate.com/index.jsp. To schedule a group meeting for an online class, please send a request one week in advance to gmbasupport@utdallas.edu. Be sure to include the course name, meeting date, time, duration and number of participants.

Facebook Group - "UTD SOM Online Students":

The SOM eLearning Team has created a group in Facebook called "UTD SOM Online Students". This group is intended for UT Dallas students (past and present) who are taking or have taken online courses through the UTD School of Management online programs. The online students and alumnus can use this group to network, socialize, post job announcements, get to know each other and etc.

If you have a Facebook account, you can use the link above to login to see the group page. If you don’t have a Facebook account, you can use the “Sign up” button on the page and follow the instructions to create your account in Facebook, then join the group. As always, if you have any questions, please email the SOM eLearning Team.

Technical Support:

UTD provides eLearning technical support 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The improved services include a toll free telephone number for immediate assistance (1-866-588-3192), email request service, and an online chat service. The UTD user community can also access the support resources such as self-help resources and a Knowledge Base. Software Purchase and Downloads:

The UT Systems has an agreement with Microsoft in which students may purchase Microsoft Software at a nominal cost. Softeware tools are available for purchase at the UTD Technology Store and can be ordered online. Please see eligibility and ordering information on their web site. Please contact UTD Technolgy Store with any questions: 972-437-3747or utdtechsales@hied.com.

There are some software tools (e.g. Adobe Acrobat Reader, McAfee) available for UTD users to download. These may be accessed within the UTD local domain (on campus) at: http://www.utdallas.edu/ir/local/ if off campus log on to the secure downloads page at https://netid.utdallas.edu/download/login.

Financial Aid:

Information regarding financial aid is available at the UTD Financial Aid Office website. U.S. Department of Education's FAFSA information is linked to the UTD Financial Aid website.
