General Questions
Q: What facilities are available to Cohort students?
A: Cohort classes are held in the School of Management
Q: What is the time commitment outside class?
A: Since the Cohort MBA program is a full time accelerated program the curriculum is a demanding one. On average, students can expect to spend 2 to 3 hours outside of class for every graduate credit hour.
Q: May admitted students postpone entering the program?
A: Yes, a deferred admission is allowable up to one year, but financial aid packages are re-evaluated.
Q: If I choose to defer my admission, what documents will I need to send to reactivate
my file the following admissions period?
A: We require you to fill out a new application and submit your current resume.
Q: Is there a placement program for students?
A: During the summer, Cohort students are strongly encouraged to participate in a
summer internship. Thus, the Cohort program works very closely with the UTD Career Center to ensure
that students have access to career workshops and employers who visit the campus.
In addition to this, a Cohort resume book is published and distributed to local business
people in the Dallas community.
Q: Are classes held during the day or at night?
A: The Cohort MBA Program is a full-time program where the core courses
are held during the day-time. All Cohort students will attend the core courses together.
A typical first-year fall semester schedule would be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Electives, which are taken later in the program, are often held at night.
Q: What is the average financial aid award often given?
A: Scholarships and TAships are given based upon merit in a very competitive
process to those who complete the third optional essay. If domestic students wish to use
alternative sources of financial aid they may contact the Financial Aid Office at 972-883-2941
or visit the website at http://financial-aid.utdallas.edu
Work & Academic Experience Questions
Q: Must I have an undergraduate degree to enter the Cohort MBA?

to admission. International students must submit official transcripts, in English, indicating the
completion of a 4 year degree.
Q: Are undergraduate business courses a prerequisite?
A: There are no prerequisites required. However college algebra and calculus
are strongly recommended, as well as familiarity with computer software such as Microsoft Office.
Q: What is the minimum requirement for work experience?
A: Though we do not have a minimum requirement for work experience,
we prefer full-time work experience in our applicants.
Q: Can I transfer into the Cohort MBA program from another MBA program?

In some cases, MBA students at UTD with up to 6 hours of elective credit may transfer into the
Cohort program.
